Our very own Company Director, Stuart Waterworth, has set himself the challenge of taking part in IRONMAN Bolton on 3 July 2022 to raise money for The Climate Coalition – one of the UK’s leading climate action initiatives.
Stuart, alongside hundreds of other plucky entrants, will take on what is widely considered to be England’s toughest endurance event, comprising of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile cycle and 26.2-mile run. Indeed, this is the only full-length IRONMAN challenge in the country, and is set to take place in the hilly countryside around Bolton at one of the hottest times of the year. Rather you than us, Stu.
With preparations well underway and the clock ticking, Stuart is hoping to raise hundreds for his chosen cause, The Climate Coalition. This unique initiative brings together individuals and organisations from across the UK, with the ultimate goal being to create the biggest ever mass lobby for climate action in history – safeguarding future generations from the threat of climate change.
To prepare for the challenge, Stuart is putting in the miles, committing to commuting to and from the Art of Maintenance offices on foot or by bike as opposed to car. And while this is in itself impressive, it also demonstrates Stuart’s commitment to The Climate Coalition – allowing him to reduce his carbon footprint sizeably in the lead up to the July event.
If, like us, you’re somewhat in awe of Stuart’s undertaking and would like to donate to his chosen charity, you can do so on his official Just Giving page. Any and all donations are welcome and greatly appreciated.
